Minimum Spanning Tree Practice

Practise Minimum Spanning Tree problems. The graph has edge weights generated randomly, the spread of the weights can be adjusted with the min and max sliders. Click an edge to added to your tree, click again to deselect it. The worksheet tells you if you have selected a spanning tree, but not if it's the Minimum Spanning Tree.

This is a step through of an exam style MST question. Both Prim's and Kruskal's can be demonstrated, selected with a slider. The vertical slider selects each step with an explanation. The whole sequence can be shown as an animation.

Zoom Lens

The rectangle is a zoom lens. It's image is shown in Graphics 2. Move the rectangle by dragging it and change the zoom by dragging the point in the corner. The rectangle maintains the aspect ratio of Graphics 2.

Adding media buttons for animation control

Demonstration and tool to help add media buttons to Geogebra. It allows you to add button images to any corner of the workspace, so that they are not affected by zoom or aspect changes. The tool creates the points to which the images you provide are positioned in their Object Properties>>Position tab. The tool is called Controls[,]. Position:- 1 - 4 = Corner[1] - Corner[4] (starting bottom left anti-clockwise), 5 = mid-point of bottom edge, other = mid-point top edge. The scripting in the images' object properties is an example of what can be done. The images are freely available on the internet, however, I did trim the border of these myself. This applet is designed to create a graph grid to be embedded in a question or exam paper. It was intended as an answer grid, but can also be enhanced for questions. There is bespoke software available, however, this was created as a practice exercise in using some Geogebra's latest features.

Linear Programming

A worksheet to demonstrate and help students solve Linear Programming problems. Input is by line equations only, not inequalities. Up to six constraints possible. The student decides which side of the line to shade using a slider. Auto zoom and Reset button. Input and drag the objective function.
