Maxima and minima

Summary

With the help of this activity, we have learnt that:
1. Slope of the tangent (m) changes from positive to negative at local maxima and from negative to positive at local minima. At the point of inflection the sign of the slope remains the same.
2. Where m = 0, there must be a case of local maxima, local minima or point of inflection
