Pick a Number Game with Fractions Between 0 and 1

This is the classic pick a number game with a twist. Players use the sliders to enter fractions between 0 and 1, and the computer tells the player whether his/her guesses are too high or too low, until the player guesses correctly. The applet keeps track of the number of guesses, and players have the option of showing the previous guesses both listed and on a number line. The number of divisions on the number line can be changed. The game is much more difficult with the number line hidden (at the higher levels it will probably be challenging for teachers too!). However, the number line representation is very good for helping students develop number sense about the size of fractions.
